A: What did you want to know?

B: I wanted to know Jill’s phone number.


3. A: Who broke the flower vase?

B: That was me. Sorry.

A: What happened?

B: I knocked it over when I was cleaning.


4. A: Did you finish your chores?

B: Not all of them.

A: What do you have left?

B: I just have to sweep the floor.


5. A: Did you have lunch yet?

B: I did. About 20 minutes ago.

A: What did you have for lunch?

B: I had a grilled-cheese sandwich.


6. A: What happened to your shirt?

B: I tore it.

A: How did you do that?

B: I was hiking.


7. A: Did you lock the door?

B: I think so.

A: Are you sure?

B: Pretty sure.


8. A: Did you drive to work today? B: No. I took the bus. A: How long did that take? B: It took an hour and a half.
