CCalling 911 - Part III

911 Operator: The ambulance is almost there. Where in the house are you located?
Caller: We’re in the kitchen. It’s on the first floor.
911 Operator: Okay, I’m going to hang up soon but before I do I want you to do a few things. Is there anyone with you?
Caller: Yeah, my brother.
911 Operator: Can you ask him to make sure the front door is unlocked, turn on the outside lights, and wait outside for the paramedics.
Caller: Okay. I will. Is there anything else?
911 Operator: Do you have any pets?
Caller: Uh yeah, we have a dog.
911 Operator: Can you put the dog in a room and close the door please?
Caller: Okay, I will.
911 Operator: And if your father has any medications, can you gather them up and put them in a paper bag?
Caller: Okay, I’ll do that as soon as the paramedics arrive.
911 Operator: Good! Now, I’m going to hang up. But call back immediately if your father’s condition gets worse and I’ll give you further instructions.
