Getting a Ride on a Cold Day
Erin: Dad, I know you told me I had to walk to school, but it’s really late. I won’t make it to class on time. Can I please get a ride?
Dad: Erin, you made yourself late on purpose so that I would have to drive you.
Erin: No, I didn’t. Really, dad. I was finishing up my assignment for math class and I lost track of time. It’s due today.
Dad: Fine. I’ll drive you. But I have to warm up the car first.
Erin: Okay. I’ll get a cloth to wipe the frost off the windows.
Dad: That’s a good idea. And don’t forget to wipe the mirrors as well.
Erin: All right.
