A Head-On Collision



Good evening! I’m Chris Gunn and I’m here with today’s top news stories.

Two people were seriously injured in a head-on collision along Dogwood. The driver of one vehicle lost control of his car and drove across the median. Witnesses say that the driver was texting on his cell phone at the time. The driver has been charged with distracted driving.

Four suspects in last week’s vandalism of the downtown area were arrested this morning. The suspects, all students of Cari High, posted videos of themselves spray painting the downtown businesses. The police were alerted to the videos by other students at Cari High.

The city of Campbell River has announced that there will be an increase in property taxes this year. The city council has said they plan to raise taxes by 3%. Residents are angry and planning protests. Campbell River is already one of the most heavily taxed areas in the province.
