Woman Convicted of Murder
Good evening! I’m Chris Gunn and I’m here with today’s top news stories.
A 21-year-old Canadian woman was found guilty in the murder of her best friend after a Facebook photo showed the murder weapon next to her. In the Facebook photo, the woman can be seen wearing a black belt — the same belt that was found next to the victim's body.
The police are asking the public to help identify two suspected shoplifters. The couple were seen on security video placing hundreds of dollars worth of medicine in a bag and exiting the store without paying. Images from the security video can be found on the police website.
City council has announced plans to lay off 20 workers. The workers will be laid off at the beginning of May. The council members claim that the lay offs are necessary to balance the budget.
