Dialogue: Requesting Time Off
A: Knock! Knock! Knock!
B: Hey, Julia. Come in.
A: Do you have a moment? There’s something I need to discuss with you.
B: Of course. What can I do for you?
A: My brother is getting married next month and I’d like some time off to attend the wedding.
B: Sure. Just use some of your vacation.
A: That’s the problem. I’ve already used up all of my vacation for this year so I would need to take some unpaid time off.
B: I see. Well, okay. We can’t have you missing your brother’s wedding. How much time do you need?
A: I was hoping for 3 days--from the 14th till the 16th-- if that’s all right with you.
B: That should be fine. Just send me an email with the details so I don’t forget.
A: I’ll do that right away. Thanks, Marty.
