Dialogue: Being Called into Work
A: Hello.
B: Hi, Sandra. It’s Michael. I’m sorry to bother you at home but we’ve had some several people call in sick and so we’re really short-staffed. Are you available to come in to work today?
A: Yeah, I can come in. When do you need me?
B: The sooner the better. When do you think you can be here by?
A: I can be there in an hour.
B: Thanks! I’ll add your name to the schedule. Oh, and we still need people for the afternoon and evening shifts. How would you feel about working some overtime?
A: That would be great! I could really use the money. So do you want me to work a double-shift?
B: Maybe. I’ve trying to get a hold of Hojoon, so I’m still not sure. But if I can’t get in touch with him, would you be willing to work the evening shift as well?
A: Of course! Just let me know and I’ll make arrangements.
B: All right. I’ll call you back as soon as I contact him.
