Dialogue: Rescheduling a Meeting
A: Jason! Hang on a sec. I’ve got a message for you.
B: Hey, Janice. You better make it quick. I was just about to step out the door. I’ve got to get to that meeting and I’m already running late.
A: It’s a good thing I caught you before you left then. I just got a call from Henry. He told me to tell you that the meeting’s been cancelled.
B: Cancelled? I just talked to Fiona this morning. She said the meeting was on. Ugh! We’ve been preparing for this all week. Are you sure it’s cancelled?
A: You can call Henry and ask him yourself.
B: No, no. I’ll take your word for it. Any idea why they cancelled it?
A: The clients called and said they couldn’t make it.
B: Uh-oh! What happened?
A: They said they had some kind of emergency at their office.
B: Did they say what it was?
A: No, they didn’t say, but they did ask if they could reschedule the meeting for next week. They were very apologetic.
B: I guess we’ll have to. Thanks for coming to get me. You saved me from being stuck in traffic for an hour.
