Walking to School on a Cold Day

Erin: Hey, dad. It’s freezing outside. Can I get a drive to school?
Dad: No, I’m sorry I’ve got to get ready for work. I’m afraid you’ll have to walk.
Erin: But dad, it’s really cold outside. It’s like minus 10 right now.
Dad: You’re exaggerating. It’s only minus 2.
Erin: Still, that’s really cold. Do you want me to catch a pneumonia and die?
Dad: No, I want you to put on a winter coat and walk to school.
Erin: You’re so mean!
Dad: You kids have it so easy. When I was growing up, my dad drove me to school exactly once. And that was because I had a broken leg and it was snowing.
Erin: You’re dad made you go to school with a broken leg?
Dad: That’s right! He did. Now go put your winter jacket on and start walking.
