Dialogue:
If I Were in Your Shoes
Dad: Erin, you’re awake. What are you doing up so early?
Erin: Well, I’ve got to finish this assignment for class today.
Dad: You seem upset. Is something wrong?
Erin: I don’t think I’ll have enough time to finish.
Dad: I’ve noticed you seem pretty busy these days.
Erin: I am feeling pretty stressed out.
Dad: Oh? Why is that?
Erin: Well, with my homework, my volunteer work, jazz band, musical theater, and my part-time job it seems like I never have enough time for myself.
Dad: You really do have a lot on your plate. Have you thought about cutting something out of your schedule?
Erin: I have, but I don’t know what.
Dad: If I were in your shoes, I’d quit the part-time job. You don’t really need the money and it doesn’t pay that much anyway. If you do that you can focus on school and still have time for yourself.
Erin: Yeah, I guess so. I’ll think about it.
