Dialogue:
I Must Have Left It in the Car

Erin: Hi, dad. Are you looking for something?
Dad: I’m trying to find my phone. I’ve looked everywhere.
Erin: Did you check your jacket pockets?
Dad: That was the first place I looked.
Erin: Have you tried calling it?
Dad: I did, but I might have turned it off. I really can’t remember.
Erin: Well, when was the last time you had it?
Dad: Let’s see. I know I had it at work because I had some overseas calls today. Hmm. I may have left it on my desk.
Erin: Are you going to go get it then?
Dad: I guess I’ll have to. I’m expecting an important call tonight.
Erin: Wait! You couldn’t have left it at work. Mom called you after work and asked you to pick up some bread from the store.
Dad: That’s right! I had already left work by then. When she called, I pulled over to the side of the road and took it out of my bag. That’s it! I must have left it in the car.
